Grant applications for individuals & charities
Applications are accepted from professional organisations only — not from members of the public directly.
For individuals
Who can apply on someone’s behalf
The Trustees welcome applications from professionally qualified NHS staff, social workers, care agencies and charities.
NHS professionals
Professionally qualified staff from the NHS may apply on behalf of eligible Plymouth residents.
Social workers
Social workers supporting someone in need can request and submit an application form.
Care agencies
Care agencies working with eligible individuals may apply to the Trust on their behalf.
Charities
Charities can apply for an individual (using the form) or write for organisational funding where criteria are met.
Qualifying criteria
What organisations must confirm
Ill or disabled
Often evidenced by health-related benefits or clinical information from the referrer.
Financially needy
The individual must be in genuine financial need of the support requested.
Plymouth resident
A permanent resident within the area of Plymouth City Council.

To apply for financial support on behalf of a Plymouth resident, contact our Consultant and request an application form via email admin@ppdtrust.co.uk or telephone 077 4625 1122.
Trustee meetings
Trustees meet five times a year to consider applications. Exact dates change each year — always contact us for the next submission deadline before you prepare a form.
Typical rhythm (confirm each year): late winter · spring · early summer · early autumn · late autumn.
Applications must be completed in full and explain how a grant would benefit the individual. Return completed forms by email or by post to:

Grants to charities
Organisational funding
Charities working with beneficiaries within Plymouth City Council’s boundary — and meeting our qualifying criteria — may apply by letter, explaining how support will benefit Plymouth residents.
Trustees generally prefer grants to individuals in need. Charities that receive a grant must report back within 12 months on how the money was spent and how it helped people from Plymouth.
